Our Ministry

DuBois Center is a ministry of the Illinois South Conference of the United Church of Christ. We have served the people of southern Illinois, the greater St. Louis area, and beyond for more than 40 years as a place where people of all ages & faiths can learn more about themselves and the world in which they live.

Our Mission

To affirm the Lordship of Jesus Christ by providing a setting where individuals and groups can discover Christian community, feel acceptance and love as whole persons, deepen one's faith in God, and practice caring for all of God's creation.

Our Facilities

Our lodges, cottages, cabins, and camping areas are all located on the shores of two lakes amidst more than 280 acres of woods, pastures, and wildlife. We provide our guests with a comfortable retreat environment, a well-maintained camping & conference facility, and delicious home-cooked meals.

Make your Reservations

Group Reservations for the Cottages and Lodges are now being accepted. Bring your group or family down to enjoy a week or weekend at DuBois. Please contact the office to make your arrangements - 618-787-2202.

Volunteers Needed

Please help by giving a few hours of your time to volunteer at our Fall Festival. Be a ticket taker, help with the Horses, work in the Kid's Korner or Soda Stand, or help with Hay Wagon Rides.

Fall Horse Retreat

(12 years old and up)

September 17-19 - Round up your boots, your friends, and your sense of adventure. Join us for a weekend of exploring DuBois Center on horseback. Sample some good ole' fashion s'mores around the campfire. Experience God's creation on the trails and in vespers.

Confirmation Retreat

(Confirmands from Illinois South UCC churches)

September 24-25 - Meet Confirmands from other Illinois South UCC churches, participate in some DuBois Center activities, join others for inspiring worship, music, interactive study, good food, fellowship and fun!

Fall Festival

October 3 - Music Festival, Craft Displays, Indoor Quilt Show, Variety of Food Booths, Horse Rides, Hay Rides, Boat Rides, Kid's Korner, and more.

Mother - Daughter Retreat

October 22-24 - Join us on a journey that will deepen our relationship with God, each other, and creation. Games and activities will be led by DuBois Center staff & volunteers. Spend quality time with your mom, daughter, sister, grand-mother, or grand-daughter. Walk the trails, sit by the lake, try your hand at canoeing or riding a horse.

Advent Spirituality Retreat

December 6-8 - Are we looking for Jesus, the same Messiah the ancient Jews were looking for? Advent Spirituality Retreat led by Father Roger Karban.
